In 1987, Chrysler purchased the bankrupt Italian carmaker Lamborghini to add an exotic brand to its portfolio. Dan Wheldon, despite being a Brit (he hailed from Buckinghamshire) is not the first racing driver’s name to trip off the tongue in the UK. But he was good; too good to have been killed by the sport he loved. Dan started life in racing in the UK via the route of most racing drivers – Karts.

These are the first pictures of Vauxhall’s third Insignia model, the estate. But estates are boring and dull, so Vauxhall has dubbed this the Sports Tourer, not to be confused with Renault’s Sport Tourer. The Sports Tourer will debut at this autumn's Paris motor show and come with a choice of seven engines and the option of front- or four-wheel drive.
